South Bay Galleria Shopping Center & Mall ·$$

Established in 1985 and spread across three floors, South Bay Galleria is one of the oldest and largest shopping centers in Redondo Beach. It is home to a great selection of stores such as Nordstrom, Macy's, Kohl's and numerous other upscale and funky clothing stores to meet your needs. I grew up going to this mall in the 90s to the early 2000s. I went here recently and I was devastated to see how deserted it has become. It's so sad to see how shopping malls are losing popularity.

The mall is not what it used to be back in the day, but it's still nice and pretty well-kept. Has some nice stores (Macy's, Tilly's, Kohl's, etc.) and actually can be a welcome break from the other over-crowded and over-priced malls. In addition, still has the AMC Theatre and a pretty good food court. Again, the maintenance of the facility is still good and there seems to be a sense of pride, even without Nordstrom's as an anchor store.

Starting to move into dead mall territory, lost Nordstrom anchor, still has a Macy's, Kohl's and AMC theaters but not a whole lot more, food court is fair but nothing special, there are much better choices out there. Used to be very nice mall but has been going downhill for many years.

Lots of parking spaces and the typical Macy’s, Marshalls, Victoria’s Secret and Michael Kors stores. The Food Court also has plenty to offer for all tastes. All in all an ok mall.

Granny Takes a Trip-trust me on this. The place to go for vintage clothes and records (no downloads or MP3’s here). The shop is new and ran by a dear sweet lady. She also has vintage concert billboard posters as the decor (not for sale). Great place to slow down and discover what WAS instead of what’s disposable. Afterward, go to the food court and a movie. Best small scale eatery there is the Mongolian BBQ place or Hot Dog on a Stick. They also have a new virtual reality game center and roller coaster simulation ride. Cost of the ride is $7.00 for one, $10.00 for two and the ride is “long” (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes) and have a chose of 11 options. I personally miss playing Defender and Zaxxon in the arcade but that was FUN!
