Visited both at night and again during the day. The nighttime view is especially impressive. Just note that the park closes at 10:00 pm.

I was suggested to enjoy heading to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty from New Jersey leaving from this park instead of Battery Park in Manhattan, however I have to say I found the place very disappointing… A long walk from the train station with nothing around to see if not cars driving by. Possibly on a hot summer day it can gain some appeal, but there was nothing there when I visited: it was just a big field with run down facilities close to the ferry terminal taking you to the Statue of Liberty. Views on Manhattan are incredible from the boat in itself so really not worth coming to this park particularly if you are heading to Ellis Island. The only potential benefit was possible less queues than from Battery Park, however I would not do it again

This Park offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan skyline. It's spacious, peaceful, and perfect for walks, picnics, or catching a ferry - an ideal escape from the city's hustle.

My husband was in Newark from St. Louis for training the week of 9/11. I flew in & met him the 10th to stay the remainder of the trip. This park was an absolute gem. So much green space, and the views were spectacular. We weren't aware of the Empty Sky Memorial. Absolutely breathtaking. We are so grateful we made time for several trips here to relax and enjoy everything there is to see.
