Located in Jersey City, N.J., Liberty State Park was founded in 1976. The park s facilities include a playground, picnic areas, nature and fitness trails, and visitor and interpretive centers. It is a place for hiking, biking, boating, canoeing and fishing activities. Liberty State Park offers a variety of programs for schools, colleges and organized groups. The park also provides professional development workshops for formal and informal educators. The interpretive center at the state park is an environmental and historical education facility that organizes exhibitions on the natural history and ecology of the park. The park is owned and operated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Great park that’s been here for 50 years. Terrific views of NYC and all that is happening on the Hudson River. Take tours of the old terminal building, where immigrants came after being processed at Ellis island, to board a train to their American journey. Plenty of food trucks and areas to picnic. Great space for kids to run and lots of play structured.
