Built and designed in 1885, the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse was refurbished in 1908. It was done carefully so as to preserve its old world charm while simultaneously modernizing it. Keeping original elements such as the 4-story belfry, turret door, Palladian windows and false fireplaces intact, this courthouse is truly a gem. It can be hired for seminars, art exhibitions, wedding receptions, private parties and luncheons. Check website for further details.

Jim Ruiz USMC(ret.) gave us a very nice tour this weekend. Very unique and intricate collection and Mr.Ruiz really made the experience worthy of the collection. Knowledgeable and a great guy. This is really a hidden gem in Lawrenceville.
MoreThis historic building requires significant maintenance. The grounds remain attractive and filled with history. The Gwinnett Historical Society is housed on the top floor operated by volunteers. This a terrific resource to learn about events in Gwinnett County.
MoreVisited the Historic Courthouse for a wedding. This building is very beautiful and well preserved. inside there is a military Musume run by volunteers. It was decorated for Christmas and that made it more special. Make plans to spend the afternoon in downtown and make a stop here.

MoreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would! My wedding was ruined, the service was terrible and it’s a complete waste of money. I had to beg to get them to repair the walls that were peeling and clean the chairs when one of ladies told me they don’t even clean chairs! One lady that worked their was extremely rude to me, my guests & family. She had been rude the day before to me and yet they still had her to work my event. I was told different things by different people that work there so that caused so much confusion. This place doesn’t care about you or your event they only want your money. They will lie, be rude, not acknowledge the wrongdoing of giving misinformation by different employees, they will cut your event short. The exclusive package is a joke! We paid for the outside gazebo and it rained so we could not use it so guess what we were told we would not get our money back. The weather is outside of our control yet we paid for something that we didn’t even get to use. If you’re planning a wedding run far away from this place! If you want bad service, rude employees, lies and misinformation by all means go ahead. It’s not worth the time or money!
