The lake itself is quite beautiful and has mostly recovered from Hurricane Helene. There is a path all the way around the lake though it is a bit worn from heavy use (and said hurricane). The area is owned by the surrounding neighborhood which allows public use though you must obtain a license to walk your dog and have a license to fish. Visitors cannot bring canoes or use any of those stored on-site. There are no toilets or other amenities. It’s just for viewing and walking. I walk this lake almost every day and find that people are quite friendly. Parking is quite limited. It’s not really for tourists.

You are REQUIRED to have a permit here for your dog(s). This is private property and is shared with the public IF the rules are followed. It’s not hard

“Game warden” (had a badge with no number, also refused to answer if he was a state or county official) informed us that he would be able to leverage a fine for us walking a dog “Without the required $120 permit” Lake is gorgeous and clean, we saw several people with dogs and every one was picking up waste and following the leash laws. This guy AT BEST is a rent a cop with a chip on his shoulder, and AT WORST is a private citizen with zero authority to fine or trespass folks.Completely ruined our experience and our whole day.

A great trail if you’re looking for an easy, short walk/run during your day. We really enjoyed how calm and beautiful the trail was! It was clean and well maintained. Looking forward to going back!

Rude “warden” charged at us. And demanded us to leave, we were polite and calm and tried to explain we were allowed to be on the property. One of the friends families property is on the lake and are allowed to use the lake. The “warden” yelled at us that he “didn’t give a hoot who we were” and yelled at us to leave again. We didn’t argue just packed up and left. He also ILLEGALLY recorded us. Avoid this place
