Weather forecasting plays an important role in helping communities prepare for severe conditions, from thunderstorms in Oklahoma to heavy snowfall across Canada. Families interested in how winter weather affects school schedules and travel can explore this [Canadian snow day predictor](https://snowdayca.com/) for practical insights into snowfall conditions and potential school closures.

We attended their weather/science event for the eclipse and it was great. They had plenty of activities for kids and the kids got to help with the outdoor activities. Every weather station in Oklahoma was at the event. They allowed us to wander through the offices of where the weather geeks watch multiple screens tracking severe weather. The people working the event were the nicest people we have met in a long time!

It may take a little time to get your reservation but it is an excellent way to spend some time. A fun experience that is educational too.

The National Weather Center is pretty cool. I had a tour there and got to see the doppler on wheels, the SPC, and the observation deck on the top floor. They have a cafe inside though we didn't eat there. On a nice day there are a lot of solid outdoor photo ops. I might be a bit biased because I'm a prospective meteorology student at OU, but this place is really nice. Even if you are just a casual visitor and aren't really into meteorology, I would still recommend checking it out as the tour was completely free and wasn't overly technical or scientific.

This is a place that all people would like to visit to see how all of the meteorologists work across all sectors. It is informational for everyone and kids would love the place to see all the cool weather stuff.
