tripadvisorExtremely disappointing adventure for something we paid over $400 for two people. The description of the tubing and sledding adventure is very mishearing. We ended up at a toddler tubing hill after two failed attempts at two other locations. Why were tickets not purchased in advance by the company. We spent 2 hours in the “ car” to end up at a mini hill that was for toddlers. This was a total rip off and very very sad for my 12 year old who was hoping for a real adventure as promised by the description. The other two adults in our “ car” were not with us but were so beyond disbelief that this was what we all paid for. Very very very sad and does not even deserve one star.
MoreBuddy and I had a fantastic time tubing the truckee River. Relatively gentle run on the truckee river, but not without some rocks and turbulence. Will do again!
MoreSierra Adventures is supposed to be a winter / snow activity adventuring co but I think the whole business may be a scam. We (me + 2 friends) never got to use their service while we were on vacation in Reno even though I was able to pay the deposit of $20 online with a confirmation. When I initially tried to contact them via phone & email that same day when I got the confirmation, I couldn't get ahold of anyone. So we drove/walked around looking for it for awhile at the address listed & couldn't find any building on N Sierra St with the address # 11. I'm not sure it even exists. Our vacation ended and I went home.. I continued to try and reach them with multiple calls (no voicemail box) and e-mails. FINALLY weeks later, a very rude man by the name of Jim told me he would provide a refund (after he aggressively argued with me about it) in a WEEK because they were so busy. It is August of 2021 and I never got my refund. Read the other reviews (also bad reviews on other websites like this one) carefully. I don't recommend this place. It's actually amazing they are still in business......
MoreWILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. They took my money and we never got to use their service while we were in Reno. After MULTIPLE calls and voicemails left a very rude man told me he would provide a refund (after he argued with me about it) in a WEEK because they were so busy It's been a month and a half and NO refund. I've emailed them multiple times and can no longer leave them a voicemail (THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE) bc their inbox is full. I think this business is a scam and I wouldn't recommend giving them your money
MoreWe were a large group of 10 children aged 7-14 and 10 adults and we had a good time in the river. Those f us with Morgan had a good time - he was fun and professional. Tim who was the leader was inappropriate, rude crude and a bully especially to some of the children. At the check in we were faced with chaos as if they had never done this before, and they did not want to honor the agreement we had previously made re paying individually and demanded one payment which we refused to do. On the drive there Tim used inappropriate, rude and crude language referring to some of the group with negativity be sexual words and when I asked to stop he continued and then regaled us with his very distorted view of history and politics. I wasn’t on his raft but when we got to the end I discovered that he had been very rude to my daughter-in-law who had tipped out of a tube and terrorized two of my granddaughters with scary tales of big momma and then was not going to take his raft past big momma. Morgan persuaded him to but he refused to let my two granddaughters go and called them negative put down names. One was petrified by his language and behavior, but Morgan came to the rescue and let her come in our raft. I had to convince her that I would protect her from the nasty man. On landing the kids ran to the shop area. I stayed behind and saw Tim go down and start picking on Morgan and pushed him back into the river with the raft on top of him. When I got to the stop my granddaughter was still shaking and scared of seeing the man, and did not calm down until she got in the car. I will be researching how to report Tim to the appropriate authorities, and in the meantime I would suggest that the owners fire him as I gather thi s is typical his behavior - see other reviews. In light of the above we should receive at least half of our payments back, a strong letter of apology, and I do not expect to see a reply to this review attempting to justify this atrocious behavior. O and our time was shorter than what we expected! Rev. Keith Hackett
