tripadvisorWe thoroughly enjoyed Jansen's art exhibits and hearing about all the studios available. As a day trip from our stay in Birch Bay, Lynden is well worth the visit. The hanging baskets throughout town and the Jansen Art Center were highlights.
MoreAs a community organization, I'd give this a 5, as an art gallery, a 4. Since we were there to see the art and I can't give it a 4.5, it'll be a 4. The art was all exceptional, but the galleries were a little unclear and hard to follow in the nonlinear building. They also hold classes and community events, which all seem incredibly cool. None of these were available to us just visiting in the late afternoon/early evening, obviously, but they feel worth mentioning if you're there for a longer stay.
MoreWhat a surprise to find a facility like this in a small town; kudos to those in Lynden who had the vision to create this facility and to those who actively support it. The Jansen Art Center is a combination of art gallery with curated art installations that are sophisticated and inspiring, and a community art center that provides music and art facilities for local performers and artists to hone their skills; all housed in a well appointed, modern renovation of the old City Hall located on Front Street in Lynden's downtown. The gallery shop in itself is worth the visit.
MoreGreat facility but poorly run and outdated. Very poor technology and the folks that are there to “help” don’t really know how to run it. There isn’t an HDMI connection for the TV in the conference room, for example. Great venue if you don’t require any kind of technology.
MoreGreat facility for meetings or a company gathering. The staff is always friendly and accommodating for the group.
