We are avid theater-goers, have lived in 7 states over the last 20 years, been in Albuquerque for the last 3 years and have generally found the Albuquerque theater scene to lack an emotionally stimulating and intelligent theater company. However, this is the theater company that ABQ has needed. Intelligent, sophisticated, stimulating and food for the heart, mind and soul! The initial offering, Trust, was fantastic. The second effort, Oleana, is even better. DCRT takes David Mamet's Oleana and creates an hour and a half of charged, passionate, and sometimes uncomfortable, interaction between a student and her professor. There is no way to get around the fact that this theater company offers a quality of performance to challenge anything we've seen on Broadway, in San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, DC and every other city we've been to or lived in that is known for its performing arts culture. We aren't from here but Duke City Rep gives us another great reason to love Albuquerque. You haven't experienced the best in ABQ theater if you haven't given DCRT a try!
