tripadvisorWas in this shop on Thursday, July 23, 2026, with a friend, and we are both grown women, not kids. Encountered the rudest, most unprofessional employee or could have been the owner, who knows after reading other negative reviews, we have ever encountered in a retail business! It was not the dark haired woman who does the online live sales events (that I now seeing the store does) but another woman with sandy colored hair.I decided to totally ignore her and found what I liked and brought my items to the counter to buy from the dark haired woman. My was going to buy several pieces at a substantial $ amount, but after this employee kept being snappy and extremely rude to her, the friend said she wouldn’t buy anything even if given to her for a penny.I have had a retail store for 20 years and would have fired this woman immediately had the store been mine! Seriously, we could not believe how awful this woman acted. Asked at the counter when I was buying my bracelet if she, the dark short-haired woman, was the boss and she said no, as I was gonna speak with her about the actions of her co-worker, and let her know they need to get rid of that employee ASAP, as they are losing good sales business daily with this employee. Too bad as it’s a cute shop.
MoreVery sad because I love stopping by that store when town but it was so unprofessional of the asst mgr and her service to us by her snarky comments and lazy way of attending to employees purchasing something behind the counter then REAL customers willing to pay money for items. Sorry a no go for me and after reading the reviews this has been going on for a while. From the manager on down. So sad
MoreI would have come in but I couldn’t get past the lady who was sweeping. I thought she might stop since she saw us standing there, but she did not. It was so rude to just look at us and keep sweeping!! Do you not want people to come into your store? If you were the last shop on River Street I still wouldn’t step foot inside after this experience. First impressions are everything in the business world. Avoid at all costs! There are other shops on River Street and that are more welcoming.
MoreHey Amanda! I couldn’t wait to hop on, & give an honest review of the customer service I received, I’m sorry, the lack of customer service. My 2 sons, ones’s partner, & myself came in to look at the jewelry in your store. Let me tell you what a wonderful day we were having before we, unfortunately crossed your path. See, my birthday was this week. I’m disabled, as you pointed out, in front of every customer in your store by screaming from the back for me to watch my step coming in. I was having such a wonderful day. I haven’t had both my boys together with me in more than 20 years, & today I did. I also had $150.00 my sweet daddy gave to me for my birthday to buy myself some gifts. I found a bangle in your store I immediately was planning to purchase. See, my daddy has end stage cancer and couldn’t be with his only daughter, or both grandsons today. His gifts matter. So, I couldn’t afford to buy a $400 replica bracelet but I had $150 I could have spent. I’m a people person & I can usually diffuse situations, and I tried with you. Why were you treating me and my family so badly, everyone in the store actually? You are not fit to manage a tilt a whirl at a fair, you have the personality of a wet sock. You are a liability to your company. I tried to connect with you, make you smile, make you laugh and it only made you more angry and rude towards us. My son is autistic, he doesn’t pick up on social cues very well. He asked you for a price on something, and you didn’t have to be so mean and snap at him. Do you have an issue with disabled people shopping in your store? It sure seems like it. You put a huge damper on a beautiful day. I didn’t get my birthday present my daddy told me to get. I walked into the meanest witches store ever! Amanda, you need anger management, and a job nowhere near humans. You even added salt to the gaping wound by talking about me loudly as I was leaving your store before I ended up losing it on you. You are mean, cruel, & you suck at sales! I mean suck! Be nice! Disabled people deserve to be treated as human. You didn’t want to be bothered to do your job you’re employed to do. Other patrons that left right before us were talking about how “nasty, & “rude” you were being to them. “Hostess City of the South”, more like Hostess City with Big Mouths! Be nice, or find a job where you can’t ruin a family’s day that was perfect until you slithered across their path. May you have the week you deserve.
MoreI bought earrings here for and a pair for my sister....maybe! Haha! I love the earrings and Sabrina was very pleasant! Be sure to visit. Just a few steps from River Street Inn
