Tripadvisor traveler Chelsea H 06/26/23

Stayed here for one night June 24th. When I arrived, the manager and front desk agent asked for my name, then the manager asked me to show him my booking information, including the amount I paid, and confirmation etc. Then I offered the front desk agent my id as having worked in and stayed in many hotels, I understand this is part of the process. Then both disappeared to the back with my Id for 15-20 minutes without a word. The front desk agent finally came back to explain that they couldn’t locate my booking. They should have told me what was going on before disappearing, and also there is no reason having seen my confirmation information and that I had already paid in full (at no discounted rate whatsoever at that), they should have taken my basic information and given me a room key, and found or created the reservation later. This was terrible customer service. This hotel was the same price or a little more than several comparable 2.5-3 star brand name hotels that offer things like breakfast and coffee in the room and do not look like motels. Make no mistake, this is a MOTEL. When entering the room (I was exhausted from an emotional week and long drive, so I accepted my fate for the night), it looked like the photos- recently renovated (though with any contracting experience you can see very cheaply), but it looks much more inviting than the stereotypical dark, old sticky stained carpets and ugly stained walls. However when I lifted the toilet seat it was terribly stained dark yellow . At this point I didn’t trust the cleanliness of this motel at all. (See photos) They renovated the entire motel but couldn’t spare $3-5 to replace a disgusting toilet seat cover?! The bed cover had burn holes in it, and the sheets had faded but very obvious big yellow stains in them. Again, we already know you’re spending the absolute bare minimum possible on sheets and bedding. Why not at LEAST replace the ones with obvious stains and holes?! Needless to say we will never waste time and money on this place again and will do better research for all future stays. $100 after tax, $84 a night, was way way WAY too high for this motel that was also very unclean, and did not offer breakfast or coffee (one Mr coffee maker that stays on all day in lobby for all guests and powdered creamer ). Also, there’s a phone in the room that’s not even on.
