Lovely for Midsummer or any Time of Summer! Friends and I enjoyed an evening, outdoor performance of Midsummer Night's Dream in the Forest Meadows Amphitheater. Right after you get your tickets scanned, you will see a table on your left with seat cushions for rent for five bucks. Do it. The cushions cover the bottom and back of the wooden seats, and unless you are anatomically blessed to be able to sit comfortably on a flat, wooden bench for several hours, the cushions make for a much better experience. We scouted out some good seats in the center of the outdoor theater - there's no assigned seating, so I suggest you find a place you'd like to sit, spread out your beach towel, and put down your seat cushions. Next, still as part of your arrival protocol, hop up to the top of the amphitheater and picnic there for about a half hour before the show starts at the cloth-covered tables. These tables fill up quickly, too, and we were happy to share our table with another group who occupied the table's other half. We brought our own picnic, by the way. I also brought a sun hat. And a parka. The outing required a range of gear! Acoustics are very good. We could hear every word. And we could see the entire stage well. We enjoyed the actors and the production very much. By intermission, the sun was well on its way to setting, and when the play ended, bright lights clarified our way out with no issues regarding seeing the stairs or pathways. Is the $50 ticket price worth it? Yes. Both on principle, because it's important to support local theater companies, in this writer's opinion, and in particular, because this show was entertaining and enjoyable. I am very glad I went.

The productions are very well done. And sitting outside is a delight. Bring a pillow - benches can be hard. MSC also has a prison acting program. They draw upon the more gifted students/graduates of the prison acting program for some of the theater productions. Excellent and inspiring!!!

Love this organization. Just received an email for the upcoming season and were surprised on the lack of reviews for this great entertainment option. We try and go once or twice during the summer and always have a great time. I like that you can bring food and alcohol, with plenty of room in the row to set up a table, sit back, and snack before the performance. Wonderful production value, atmospheric setting, and like minded participants add to the charm. Bring warm clothes, it chills down quickly. Plenty of parking. Just love it!

Marin Shakespeare Company is an outdoor amphitheater where you can enjoy of professional production of one of Shakespeare's many plays and other non Shakespeare plays as well. Actors Equity Association members and others perform in these well acted shows. Bring a picnic lunch or dinner and enjoy a reasonably priced afternoon or evening out!

The current Marin Shakespeare Company production of The Taming is outrageously delightful! The all female cast is very talented and the set is great. The outdoor amphitheater venue under the stars is perfect on a summer evening. Bring a picnic, wine, soft cushions for the hard wooden seats and enjoy a terrific evening!
