My daughter and I went to see Godspell this afternoon, we arrived with great expectations as we have experienced so very many wonderful plays here and were indeed very much enjoying the show, loving the young man who played Jesus. He was absolutely amazing with so many lines, his facial expressions and on and on! We literally had tears rolling down our cheeks, they were all doing such an excellent job with Jesus's death, BUT ...we left feeling hollow and empty, because the director did not have Him resurrected, brought back from the dead, which is the ultimate point of the glorious story of the life and death of Jesus. We're moving out of state, so this was the last show for us to be able to partake in at Limelight, we have enjoyed so many here, so this was unfortunately a very… disappointing ending to our experience with this lovely theater.

We went to see The Trouble with Traditions for my mother’s birthday, which was advertised as a Christmas musical. It was our first time at the Limelight Theatre. We were all looking forward to the performance, which sadly, was the equivalent of what you would see at an elementary school performance. The storyline (an original play) was terrible and the acting was subpar. We left at intermission. I can’t believe we spent $90 on our tickets for three people. I don’t know if they do better with plays that are more mainstream. I doubt we will go back to find out. I gave two stars only because the people there were very friendly.

We were on vacation in JAX, when our local friends suggested we visit this vey cozy theater. We saw Music Man...which we have seen before. It was fantastic!!!We are members our our local community theater's very active guild-and we were thrilled to see that Limelight also has a guild. I'm guessing that it is the backbone of this theater. What a terrific night seeing talented actors and singers!!

An absolutely fabulous experience. A small intimate venue, managed and staffed by volunteer friend of the arts. I've lived in St Augustine for 6 years and somehow was not exposed to this wonderful theater. The show tickets at the theater are approx. $30. which is, without a doubt, one of the best deals in St Augustine. The theater has a small reasonably priced cocktail bar that is open before and during the performances. My wife and I were blown away by the quality and skill and enthusiasm of the actors/performers. It is an experience I'm sorry I missed for 6 years and which I will repeat frequently in the future.

My wife, daughter and I went to the Limelight for a performance of Little Miss Sunshine this week, and it was a wonderful experience. The intimate theater was the perfect setting for this delightful show - community theater at its best!
