Ormond Memorial Art Museum And Gardens or OMAM as it is commonly known was opened in 1946 in honor of those who died in the gruesome World Wars. Paintings and exhibits from the days gone by adorn the walls of the spacious galleries, while the gardens provide a much needed respite to urban dwellers with their refreshing landscapes. Till date, this museum and garden has been providing inspiration to families, children, students, scientists, researchers and visitors. Events and tours are frequently held.

tripadvisorThis is a hidden gem in Ormond Beach. Stopped in here and I was pleasantly surprised. Arrived shortly after opening and the museum and gardens were quiet. There is a nominal admission fee but the museum and gardens are well worth it.The current display of upcycled objects by Jeff Schofield was intriguing, unique and spectacular. It brings to light the disposable society which has been created. Other works of art are on display as well.Don't forget to pick up a brochure of Art Imitates Life II Beyond the Bronze, the Seward Johnson Sculpture Tour. These life size sculptures are extremely detailed and most interesting. Several are within walking distance of the museum. The outdoor gardens are well maintained, peaceful and provide an opportunity to sit at various benches throughout the gardens and reflect. The gardens provide a calmness and restful environment (even though it is located in close proximity to busy Granada Blvd.) The turtle pond is active with various species of turtles. A look at the cluster of bamboo and its great height as well as various other foliage.Great museum and from my understanding the art displays change periodically. The museum does have complimentary parking available just south of Granada Blvd. behind the gardens.Would highly recommend and I will return again.
MoreLovely walk through the garden! Wish I lived here to enjoy a lot. The tropical plants were stunning. Loved all the Lizards scampering around. A beautiful cat enjoying the sun. The art gallery was small but had very nice art display. Admission is free. A $2 donation would be welcomed. There are no printed maps but you can take a picture of the map in the lobby of the art museum. There is a small gift shop.
MoreThe gardens and sculpture within is very pleasant; and the museum exhibits are too. We were lucky enough to visit during an exhibit opening reception and it was just lovely. Very pleasant experience.
MoreLoved both of them the museum and gardens. My husband was amazed at grade shcool students art. Bonus for the day care taker feeding cats.
MoreWe enjoyed viewing the art even though we know nothing about it. The gardens were our reason for stopping in. They are gorgeous!! The fall was def a favorite of mine. Watching the turtles in the pond was fun. The lush green and beautiful trees.... if I lived here, I'd be here often.
