tripadvisorThis small museum offers a lot of interesting items dealing with African history. Director Mary Allen is able to provide information on many of amazing items in the collection. The slave made banjo was the highlight for me. Don't miss the Noble Thin Man Watts amphitheatre located across the street. Be sure to leave a donation. Recommended for adults and children elementary age and older.
MoreSuch a great surprise to come here, and be welcomed to enjoy art in a historic space. Definitely make the stop, don't walk by!
MoreI visited the African-American Museum of Arts while in Florida June 2016. It's a small space; however it has some interesting arts and artifacts. It's free of charge to get in. Its worth the visit. So stop in if you are in the area.
MoreIt was so small that we passed it twice. I am so happy that we found this little gem in DeLand. It had 2 galleries and items for sale. The guide was kind and well informed about the pieces displayed.
