I always have high expectations for Ensemble Theater productions, but in the case of Alice, formally of Wonderland, I didn’t know what to expect, as I was unfamiliar with the storyline.We very quickly realized this was an extraordinary production, from the obvious talent level of the performers and equally importantly, their chemistry on stage. This is a very talented group that either meshed quickly or had a ton of rehearsals as the show was flawless. Lighting, set and costumes were all first rate as well, and I particularly enjoyed the music being all a cappella, with fabulous harmonies throughout that really showcased the range of the players’ abilities.Witty, engaging and a very clever through-line to the Alice we all know. As an added bonus, they all appeared to be having fun as well! Would go again in a heartbeat. Attended matinee on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

We are theater goers everywhere and we just loved the Christmas Carol production. The playhouse is intimate, tickets fairly priced and the players were fantastic. I cannot recommend this group highly enough!

ETC's production of Jane Austen's Emma, with music and libretto by Paul Gordon, was hilarious and flawless! It was one of those novel and memorable theater experiences that I'll be enjoying in memory for a long time.

The Ensemble Theater Company puts on a wide range of play genres. Their presentations are always professional. I've frequently been surprised by enjoying a performance more than I had expected to. The theater was renovated in recent years and it's beautiful. There are pre-show talks given some evenings in a lovely courtyard.

I give this 4*s rather than 5 because some of the choices in any given season are less than top notch. I am glad to see that local actors are being used in more shows but they continue to use (mostly) LA actors. This is the only professional theatre company in SB but we have many very talented local actors, both union and non-union.
