tripadvisorI was visiting a pair of friends who live in Orlando and I looked up live performance opportunities before my trip. We serendipitously happened into a “one night only” show called “Men of Motown“ show, and it was simply magnificent. What stood out to make for a truly memorable night:•The sold-out, energetic crowd. •Delightful ushers/box office/bartending staff - everyone was cheerful, friendly and kind. •SENSATIONAL singers who could also cut a rug - in the tradition of all the great Motown performers - and an incredible four-piece band backing them up. The room was ROCKIN’! Folks were signing and dancing - such super fun. All in all, a perfect “first experience” at this unique, lovely venue - we look forward to our next show there!
More“From My Hometown” is, without question, the hottest ticket in Central Florida. If you haven’t secured a seat yet, do whatever you can to get one. This production delivers a level of entertainment that surpasses anything I’ve seen at Dr. Phillips. The show transports you to a time when confidence felt earned, ambition was fueled by self‑belief, and the dream of success pulsed through every city street. Three cousins reunite unexpectedly in 1970s New York City, each chasing their shot at rhythm‑and‑blues stardom. Having been in NYC during that era myself, the musical stirred memories of a time when music wasn’t designed to shock—it was meant to lift the spirit, soothe the soul, and move you from the inside out. This show captures that perfectly. From the moment the curtain rises, the audience is swept into a world that never disappoints. By the end of the evening, you realize you’ve been entertained more deeply than any amusement park or theater in the region could ever promise. If the spirit of James Brown, Otis Redding, or Jackie Wilson can be felt anywhere today, it’s on this stage.Absolutely loved it.
MoreOutstanding PerformersThe performers were excellent, with voices that blended well. They are examples of the outstanding talent in the greater Orlando area, likely due in part to the theme parks where actors can perform year round. The welcoming speech is too long and the audience gets a bit impatient to see the show.
MoreWe just saw “Route 66” at the Winter Park Playhouse. This was our first time there and we were unsure what to expect. The production was nothing short of spectacular. The actors did an outstanding job of singing and comedy. There is no bad seat in the house and the musical accompaniment was great. We will definitely patronize the Playhouse in the future.
MoreEnjoyed the show but the curtain speech was too long and the seats are somewhat on the small side. The good news is that they have received money to do renovations so the future will have a much improved venue.
