tripadvisorI always drop by this establishment when in the Daytona Beach area. Barry does irreverent pastiche-type items using snippets of well-known masters, frequently referring to current events or recent history. Some of his items I find not not true; not true-to-life, but too painfully true. It may be hard for some viewers to understand the references to masters of the past century or Renaissance artists, but generally, I'm confident most visitors will get the humor at work here. It is also true that viewers of a certain political stripe might be offended by some of these works. Barry will also come out and say hello and is open to questions about his work. I always have one poster from this shop hanging around the house somewhere. Keep up the good work Barry!
MoreThis art gallery is very aberrant! It's not our cup of tea at all, but check it out. It's weird art work, that's for sure!
MoreWe were wandering along beach st and stumbled into this delightful and frequently thought-provoking studio, where Barry kite mixes cut-outs (now he does it digitally) of works of famous masters and photos, and even bits from commercials, pulp thrillers, and old magazines. The results are sometimes political (warning: some may be irritated, but I wasn’t), sometimes puzzling, and sometimes hilarious. A little knowledge of some the famous works of the last few hundred years may be helpful here, but you don’t have to be an art historian to get it. Keep on, mr. kite! Enjoy!
MoreThis is an ......interesting place.... with some very different art. A fun place to visit and they have some of the art on postcards so you can take a bit home even if a full-size piece is not your cup of tea.
MoreIt's not your average pretty picture without substance gallery, all of his work is going to make you feel some sort of way about it, either good or bad. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally like that take on art and found a few pieces I was really happy to go home with. If it doesn't make you think, if it doesn't make you feel, is it really art?
