This review is a few months late, but have meant to leave it for awhile. Went to Palm Bay with a friend, hunted for karaoke, nervous about going somewhere we were unfamiliar with but my oh my was this place a BLAST! We read the reviews in advance, seems it matters what attitude you go in with, go in with a down to earth smile, say hello all around, be courteous, tip as you do your fav place elsewhere, work up your nerve to sing, no matter how you sound, and cheer for the locals that bring the house down. I promise if you check your attitude at the door you will find this place is absolutely incredible, super kind locals, super amazing variety of awesome people, staff is super, we met some really cool folks, including a real life Tall Barbie who rocked, just fun and awesome peeps that we will NEVER forget, and if we are in the area again by George we know where to go. Thank you for one of the most fun and enjoyable evenings in a long time!! We needed that smile.

YUCK! Rude employee, we walked in, went to the restroom and left... As we were leaving, we said Thank you and have a good night....To which the jerk behind the bar replied good, get out of my bar (I assume we were a little past his desired clientele age limit!)

Note, I use the term dive bar without judgment. It is just an accurate description of the types of establishment. Shady Oaks is mostly a bar (I believe they have limited food but per Florida law can make up no more than 10% of their revenue) and as such, they still allow smoking. The beer selection is terrible unless you lack big macro beers without flavor. I think the best brand I saw there was Yeungling. It is a full bar and the selection of liquor selection is decent. There are generally pool tables (though they were removed for the concert when I was there) and dart boards for entertainment as well as several large TVs. I went to see L.A. Guns there and as a concert venue it is okay. Sight lines are decent and crowds are small. The sound is okay but nothing to write home about. If you don't mind washing your clothes when you get home, this may be the place for you.

Very much in need of a makeover. Smells like smoke. Bathrooms are nasty. Carpet nasty. It is a BAR won't go for anything more. If you want to drink and smoke this is the place for you.
