Great hotel , close to UT and all the attractions we wanted to visit. Enjoyed the breakfast, better than most I had in the past.
MoreSuper close to the airport, and we thought air traffic would be loud, but that wasn't the case, barely heard planes overhead. We checked late, past the time for the hotel shuttle, but the hotel actually arranged for an Uber at their expense! That was a nice surprise! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The front desk person was so kind, friendly and helpful! Breakfast was fresh, well-stocked, and the staff was very nice and working hard. Making the reservation was a shot in the dark, but I'm very happy with the hotel, location, amenities, and staff.
MoreStayed at the nearby Hyatt House before and liked it. However, I got it confused when I made the reservation through the app, and picked the Hyatt 'Place' instead. Good mistake though- Although this place looked older from the outside, the recently renovated rooms made up for my initial disappointed impression. Bedroom- The bed was big and comfortable, once we turned down the AC. The room was much larger than the one at the Hyatt House nearby, and it was much more modern, but restrained. Nice and clean! Staff- Friendly and excellent. While at the beach I called to the hotel and had our stay extended another day, with no problem.Parking-I remember the nearby Hyatt House parking being a little bit tight, that was NO problem there at the Hyatt Place. Parking was plentiful and the spaces were larger.Breakfast Bar- Oh my gosh, one of the best breakfast bar presentation that we had ever seen. Lots of choices, nicely presented in a bright space that had enough room, that you were NOT squeezed arm to arm with the next guest, trying to get some food. Bottomline- My initial outside view reaction was wrong! This place was excellent for a reasonable price and we liked it enough that it will be my default hotel for future stays in Tampa.
