This beach gave us amazing sunrises. It was an unforgettable experience. We collected a lot of shells here and created amazing memories

Pier extends out into the Indian River/Intercoastal waterway. Short walk out to a covered area with picnic tables. It was prom night in Melbourne Beach so lots of dressed up high schoolers taking pictures. It was definitely worth stopping here in addition to lovely Melbourne Beach on the Atlantic Ocean.

Melbourne Beach is one sleepy town. The beach itself is rough surf and dangerous rip currents. There are three or four restaurants and that’s it. Bring lots of books if here for awhile. That being said, cool pier will take up 30 minutes or so. Nice neighborhoods to walk through with little traffic. Great place if you want quiet time.

Visited for the first time this week despite regularly visiting Florida over the past 30 years. Usually opting for Clearwater, St Augustine or Daytona beaches this was a terrific find for just relaxing on the beach and dipping in and out the sea. Miles of sand and hardly any people, we couldn’t believe it. Yes, being on the Atlantic coast the water was colder but not significantly. The beach was spotlessly clean.

I like this small town, quiet spot. The Melbourne Pier seems to be located in Ryckman Park, or at least they are right next to each other because they share parking. Starting recently, you have to pay for parking and the fancy machines didn't seem to take quarters; however, I actually lucked out and got free parking. (I probably would have rated it 4 stars if I had to pay at least $2.50 to walk around for a few minutes.)It may be useful to note that this is not directly at a beach access and ocean swimming point like some of the pictures indicate. Right by this Pier - technically in the Ryckman Park - are cute mileage signs and parts of an old railroad, which was used to move people across a few dozen blocks to the beach side.
