Gertrude's American Restaurant ·$$

There are few restaurants in the Phoenix area with surroundings quite so scenic as Gertrude's, which is situated inside the Desert Botanical Garden. The menu is seasonal, so it changes often, but always includes fresh, local ingredients sourced from Arizona and the Southwest. Dishes come to take their inspiration from all over, with past menu items including dishes like Bangers & Mash, smoked salmon "tartare" and smoked beef brisket to name just a few. The bar features a great selection of craft beers, cocktails and wines to accompany your meal. Whenever the weather permits, make sure you grab a table outside so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery.

If you have to be at the garden near dinner time it is a safe enough bet however not great and the food is never warm! The blood orange gin & tonic was fine, not very strong or overly botanical...
