tripadvisorWhat a jewel in the middle of Missouri! We have been involved in theatre for years from actress to director to board member. They have a wonderful theatre experience! The dinner was delicious and very plentiful. The play was fantastic!! We saw Drinking Habits. The cast really played off each other so well. The laughter was loud and continuous. The 4 hours went so fast and was so enjoyable! It was our first visit, we will be back! I highly recommend spending time at this theatre. Kudos to all the volunteers, staff, director and cast!! Thank you
MoreThis was the first time visiting the Dinner Theater. It was such a pleasant surprise attending. The play was so funny and kept your attention throughout. The dinner was very tasty and the service was good. If you are ever in Carthage, this is a must see experience.
MoreThe Christmas show was very well done and the meal was excellent. For live entertainment, STDT can't be beat. All personnel except the cook are volunteers. You will not find a better theater experience. Theater is small and all seats are good ones.
MoreThis is a small theater which means that there are no bad seats. Every actor, director, server, ticket seller and all persons except the cook and manager are volunteers. We attend several different theaters both amateur and professional. We have been season ticket holders at Stones Throw for many years. These volunteers are as good or better than you will find anywhere off or on Broadway. The meals are always delicious and they will make adjustments for special needs. Most of the plays are comedies but the occasional drama is also well presented. If you like theater you will love STDT in Carthage, MO.
MoreRecently attended the dinner theatre production of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park at Stone's Throw dinner Theatre in Carthage, MO. Cost for the event was very reasonable at $27 each. The meal however was barely average. We were jammed into the a small area so that each and every time anyone passed by our table I got hit in the head, neck or shoulders. Asking the serving staff to move our table a bit to the side out of the way of traffic didn't bring any assistance so we moved it ourselves! Tthis was fine until other crowded dinners took advantage of the extra space and moved as well which resulted in the same bump on the head, neck or shoulders each time someone came by. The salad must have sat in the dressing for several hours before it was served. It was warm, limp and soggy. How can you go wrong with ham and sweet potatoes? The ham steak was very large and good but the peas were mushy and I didn't see any pearl onions. Carrot cake was good. The theatre production stretched on and on without much comedy. This was our first time to attend. We hope the next time we are attend the food, sitting arrangements, and production will be better!
