Beautiful park and carousel in the heart of downtown Chattanooga! Great family-friendly park to bring the kids with a carousel-themed splash park and beautiful ground along the river. The walking bring across the river was closed for repairs, but it’s a short drive across from downtown and worth the trip.

I’d heard about the antique carousel during my trolley tour the day before so I knew I’d check it out. I’d once written an article on National Merry-Go-Round Day because I never pass up an opportunity to ride on them! I went to Coolidge Park and enjoyed Christkindlmarkt. But the real reason I went was to ride on that carousel!

Visiting the carousel was on my list, but I happened to stumble upon it while walking around town. It is located near the river's edge in a park with a beautifil animal-themed fountain. The carousel is gorgeous. I especially loved the historic ticket booth still located in front. I am happy to see this history has been preserved.

This is a cool find in Coolidge Park. It is indoors and the animals are all antique. It is only $1 to ride and you buy tickets from a machine inside. Our grandkids loved it.

A must do when you visit Chattanooga. Great for kids and lots of shops and restaurants to entertain. The carousel is awesome!
