tripadvisorHostile environment if you have a dog— Ocean Ridge atmosphere can be extremely unwelcoming. Residents routinely confront, yell at, and harass visitors over dogs—even legitimate service dogs that are legally allowed under federal law.Instead of enjoying the beach, expect public shaming and hostility from locals who act as self-appointed enforcers. Police acknowledge the law but enforcement culture has created an environment where visitors are treated aggressively. If you value peace, accessibility, or basic courtesy, you may want to choose a better beach town that’s more welcoming.
MoreWhile not the prettiest beach we have ever been to it certainly did the trick! The beach itself is somewhat narrow, with to buy chairs taking up some back row space, but you can easily sneak in your chairs between these pay to rent chairs and have a nice view of the ocean. Not a lot of room for frisbee, paddle or soccer at this beach, but as long as you know ahead of time and have some reading materials you will be fine. If you do want to play some sports your best bet is down closer by the water, and if digging is in your plans there is plenty of room for this. There is a two-tiered parking lot and we were able to find a spot on the upper level closer to the beach. It is a pay for parking lot, but you can easily pay with the Park Mobile app and it was a fair $2.50 hourly charge. Was it one of our top ten beaches, no. But after three days of sitting at the pool it was a nice change and we’d likely visit again!️
MoreThe beach is ok. I wouldn’t suggest it to someone who is visiting from out of town. The beach itself is small… it gets packed on a nice day, especially on the weekend and everyone is on top of each other. The other thing was that there were red ants everywhere. Got bit a few times and noticed those around us were getting bit as well. I know FL has bugs everywhere but I have never been to a beach that had red ants. There are definitely nicer beaches north and south of this area
MoreThis beach is very clean and inviting. Rented the chaise and umbrella which made the day relaxing The water eas tepid, it was HOT that day and full of seaweed which cannot be helped. Also clean bathrooms. Need to pay for parkinh.
MoreSuch pretty palm trees & plants surrounding the beach. The water is a beautiful color. The snack shop was closed but restrooms & outdoor showers are open. Parking is $2.50 an hour & there are machines that take coins or credit cards only or there is an app.
