Reviews
tripadvisorSorry to write a less than favorable review but this does capture our thoughts. This free museum displays work of local artists. The art by high school students was nice to look at. Enjoyed seeing their creativity.Compared to what we saw elsewhere, the gift shop was so-so and we walked quickly through it,Some of the black and white photography drew us in. I used to develop my B&W photos, thus viewing work of others is always interesting.Part of the museum had an installation in progress. Perhaps that was a distraction which influenced our perceptions.Just not the museum for us. Nothing compelled us to purchase anything either. Will you enjoy it more than we did??? Guess that is a personal decision.
MoreThe free admission center highlights the art works of artists, local and international. The art classes include jewelry, metal work, glass, clay, photography, and more for children and adults. They set up about 30 exhibits a year and I look forward to the exhibit opening Jan 17 of pottery by Florida university students. They offer a few opportunities for local artists, even budding artists, to enter their works to exhibit.
MoreMy girlfriend and I love glass art, when we saw there was a permanent Chihuly collection at Morean Art, it was the 1st thing on our TO DO list in St Pete! Amazing collection, and ticket included glass blowing demo afterward. Loved the gift shop and supporting local artists!
MoreA really great museum of glass art. We have visited Chihuly exhibits all over the USA and this is among the top collections.
MoreThe picture that is shown is from the Chihuly exhibit across the street at 720 Central, not the art center at 719 central. It was OK, I am just not much into abstract art. I have a three YO who could throw paint on a canvas and call it art. Can I get severl hundred dollars for it?
