Roosevelt Elementary School educates more than 550 students in prekindergarten through grade five. Founded in 1926, the school facilities feature an auditorium, cafeteria, media center and classrooms built in Spanish style. Its staff includes speech and language therapists, reading coaches, paraprofessionals, media specialists, custodians and classroom teachers. Roosevelt Elementary School maintains a parent-teacher association that sponsors cultural events. Its advisory council reviews student testing data and develops the campus improvement plan. The school also offers various cocurricular and extracurricular activities, including science fairs, reading competitions, musical shows and physical fitness programs.
