Terrible. Dirty, stains all over the floor. Fingerprints on all windows and mirrors. Stains on comforter. Smelled like smoking room.

Our experience was very disappointing. The first room had a strong cigarette smell, a bedsheet with a hole in it, and sticky countertops. The hallway was also dirty and smelled like cigarettes. We were moved to another room, which was slightly better. It was frustrating to see so many positive reviews when the property looked nothing like the photos advertised online. Overall, the cleanliness and condition of the rooms were unacceptable.

I came here to stay one night with my friends, and this place was absolutely disgusting. The elevator is defective, rattles while moving, and the doors slam open. The entire building had a musty smell, and I found a full toenail clipping underneath my sheets. We checked out around noon. Later that day, around 5 PM, I realized I had accidentally left my AirPods in the room. We came back to the hotel to retrieve them, and the woman working the front desk told us that housekeeping hadn’t found anything. We showed her that the AirPods were showing up at 6300 W Michigan Ave in Lansing and told her we were going to contact the police because we were concerned about what had happened to our property. Instead of helping us, she walked away and went into the housekeeping room. After about 15 minutes, a short-statured man came through the front door and went toward the housekeeping room. He eventually came back into the lobby holding my AirPods. He claimed that he had found them in my sheets. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I had already asked the front desk about my AirPods and was told that housekeeping had found nothing. If they had actually been found in my room, why weren’t they turned over to the front desk or reported as lost property? Why were they apparently sitting in the housekeeping area until we confronted the hotel about their location?I also noted the license plate of the vehicle: EZR 3239.I’m extremely glad I got my AirPods back, but the circumstances surrounding them being withheld and then suddenly produced after we confronted the hotel were extremely suspicious and unacceptable.Between the dirty room, musty smell, defective elevator, toenail under the sheets, and the way my missing property was handled, I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel. If you end up staying here anyway, do not leave anything valuable in your room that you aren’t prepared to potentially lose.

Price was OK. Check in at 10 pm delayed because two other guests were having issues and the employee had problems verifying their ID etc but after waiting 15 min, my check in took 1 min.Room smelled awful when we arrived, couldn't open the window to get fresh air as the screen was broken. Badly stained carpet and mattress pad ripped. Sheets were clean though, they had the pillows all folded up into a square, mostly to hide that they were a bit lumpy. Air conditioning worked well, water pressure good, bathroom was clean, towels soft and there were plenty. Was able to sleep well though and it was just for one night. Didn't try the buffet as we didn't want any breakfast.

After being told this was soon to become a Marriot property, I understood why it seemed a little meh. Everything was okay: convenient to highway/dining/shopping; room adequate, clean and comfortable; bathroom had a very good shower and some toiletries; HVAC responsive and quiet. That said, elevator did not always work well (we took stairs a few times) and we found desk clerk (same at check in and out) not very welcoming or friendly. Attributed these shortcomings to the imminent change in ownership. Breakfast was good and covered all the bases for hot and cold, coffee/tea/hot water available at all times. We are Choice Privileges members and usually pick from this chain first.
