Melrose Elementary School serves more than 550 students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers a variety of extracurricular and academic programs. The school offers classes in various subjects, such as art, music, journalism and physical education. It additionally offers the English for Speakers of other Languages program. Melrose Elementary School s magnet program is designed to prepare interested students for possible enrollment in the Center for the Arts and Communication Studies at John Hopkins Middle School. It is a Title I school and includes various facilities, such as a cafeteria, playground, media center, computer laboratory, newsroom, and art and music rooms.
