This is a nice place to visit if you are into the history of Manatee County. It has a fair number of old buildings which were moved to the village, with clear and insightful plaques. You can easily spend an hour going over all exhibits and buildings. The place has a small gift shop as well.

Wonderful history! Well maintained. Lovely grounds. Everything is marked nicely, with history shining through. Restrooms on site. There’s a church, the first court house in Florida, a home, boat builder shop, blacksmith facility. Terrific trip back to the 1800s!

Nice, quiet and interesting place for people and families interested in history. We made at stop there from our way to the South West coast to Orlando. It is not big, but the buildlings are interesting to visit. The staff is very friendly. And best of all: It's free (thoug I recommend to make a donation ).

This historical park was great to visit. Michelle was the docent who was very welcoming and informational. We enjoyed the school house, church and settler’s home, the most. We understood from our self tour just how hard life was in the 19th century. We even got to go across the street to see the cemetery. Many founding pioneers are at rest there. This park is a wonderful and interesting place to wander about and feel the history of long ago.
