Enjoyable long standing (74th season;1949) community theatre. A small theatre of less than 150 seats set in an historic island house at the corner of Gulf Drive and Pine avenue. The seating is very comfortable with excellent sight lines and sound. The pricing is quite reasonable with tickets available online or from the theatre box office. Usually several productions throughout the year. Check their website for production and pricing details. Coupled with a pre-show dinner makes for a unique and enjoyable AMI evening.

Beautiful community playhouse. Seats a nice crowd. Sears fairly comfortable with ample leg room. Both myself and my companion were amazed by that. Energy of theater and audience very pleasant and comfortable. Play was great -a bit dialog heavy for 8 pm after dinner. We would return for another production.

Last spring, I was on the Anna Maria Island and went to see “Present Laughter”. I kept me laughing from start to finish. The actors carried their English accents with pride. Costumes we very nicely done to fit the time frame of the play. Set was well constructed and added to the success of this play. The theater, lighting and seating is comfortable. Please check their website for ticket information for their 71st Season of great Community performances.

The Island Players in Anna Maria is a gem! There is not a bad seat in the house! The directors and actors are professional. A must visit if you are looking for a wonderful experience while on the island.

I recently attended the last production of the season, An inspector calls. What a wonderful surprise, this lovely little theater was adorable. We were greeted by a very helpful lady in the box office, then shown to our seat by an enthusiastic volunteer. The production was first class and very well acted, much to our delight. Highly recommended!
