tripadvisorWe checked into Extended Stay America in Ocala after a long day of travel, hoping for a simple, clean place to rest. Unfortunately, what we experienced was the complete opposite. As soon as we turned on the lights in the room, roaches—multiple roaches—scattered across the floor. It was immediately clear that this wasn’t an isolated issue, but something more serious. Needless to say, it made the room feel completely unsanitary and uncomfortable.Beyond that, the overall condition of the room felt run-down and poorly maintained. Cleanliness is the most basic expectation when staying at a hotel, and this location fell far short. We were extremely disappointed and would not reserve this place again. There are plenty of other options in Ocala that are worth your time and money. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.BTW----I was there a full 5 minutes and left. They at least gave me a refund.
MoreWorst night ever spent in a hotel. Room was filthy. Multiple cockroaches were found in the room. Shower towel had blood stain on it. Beds are no more than an iron frame with a mattress. Floor around toilet was disgusting and toilet paper holder had rust?? stains all over it. Extremely noisy and appears to actually be a housing hotel.
MoreWe should have read the reviews before booking.I would rather sleep on the floor of a bus station bathroom in lower New Orleans than stay at this place again, and we won’t.To start with, the check-in process was ridiculous. The woman, in her pajamas, checking us in was the least friendly person we’ve encountered on our adventures. The lobby was filthy with spilt liquid on the floor. Our room smelled like a cross between a urinal, musty, overcooked greasy, food, and some sort of hot electrical odor.Turning back to sheets revealed fur balls that could be flicked off. The bathroom and the floors were filthy. There was a “blood like“ substance on the walls, could’ve been spaghetti. We went downstairs to get another room, but they had closed the front counter. I called what I think was “Corporate“ and they got the woman to come back down open up and give us another room. Not much better, but it was after midnight, a prepaid room, so we couldn’t/didn’t leave. At one point, while hazarding walking down the hallways, we came across an infant/toddler unattended in the hall. The parking lot was full of loiterers smoking And drinking. It is not a safe place because the parking lot is poorly lit and homeless panhandlers. My advice is stay somewhere else unless you’ve had all of your shots.
