There are several chocolate shops in Santa Fe, many of which are touted as having the best chocolate. As a native Santa Fean and one who has eaten chocolate around the world, I can tell you that Chovokate Smith has the best chocolate that my husband and I have ever eaten. Their candy is all made on site, fresh daily, and they have any flavor that you would want. Don’t miss it!

We stopped in looking for Los Muertos chocolate to take home as a souvenir, and they had several flavors to choose from. Friendly staff gave us a couple of samples of their handmade chocolate to try that were delicious. Parking is a bit limited. Would definitely go back!

We stumbled upon Chocolatesmith by accident and were glad we did. The owner walked us through her wide variety of chocolate treats. They were delicious. She favors dark chocolate, our favorite, and combines several New Mexican spices into truffles, bark, and other chocolate treats.

Excellent chocolates! Many delightful flavor pairings. And the best news is they will ship! You can also find unique gifts, both food and nonfood, perfect for those that have everything. Our favorites were the lemon thyme caramels and the pinion nut caramels.
