Marvel at the stunning array of native plant life at this fantastic facility in the city. Stretching 100 acres (0.40 square kilometers), the lush garden is impeccably landscaped with a magnificent array of flowers including a number of exotic plants. Deserving a special mention is the Rhododendron garden with no less than eight varieties. The garden organizes various educational activities and events throughout the year for promoting native flora. A walk through the lush landscape is a refreshing experience.

tripadvisorThe botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to visit! We enjoy their family programs and visiting professor lectures.
MoreThe grounds were beautiful and vibrant, the employees were amazing, great place for families from ages 1-100, and overall an amazing experience.
MoreWe were in the park and had visited the museum of art, so it was no big deal that the garden was disappointing, even with the azaleas in bloom. Certainly, not worth the price of admission! Fortunately we did not lose very much time and were able to head down to Bellingraph Gardens which are a must see. I usually don't leave negative reviews but this is one that you could leave off your tourist agenda!
MoreThis was not the very best month to visit a botanic garden, even in Alabama. This one is small, but it's in a complex with other museums which makes the trip more inviting. It's small, but there are a few paths to walk and a longleaf pine forest as well. The gift shop has some nicely chosen items.
MoreMy oldest son loves koi and water features so we visited on a lazy afternoon during the week of our vacation and we had the whole place to ourselves. The people who worked there were very kind, from the man at the front gate giving us directions to the ticket area, to the ladies collecting our money for entrance. The koi pond was the highlight for sure! Some of the plants were not labeled but I had a plant identification app on my phone. We spent less than an hour here.
