This should be a must do for anyone visiting Chattanooga during the first or last weekends of the month. At this time, these are the only times this waterfall is open to the public. Absolutely stunning river gorge and waterfall. Hard to believe a waterfall of this size is not a state park but the upside of it being in private hands is that they limit visitors and you are guaranteed a parking spot. In order to visit, you need to make reservations to visit ahead of time and the cost is $16 per vehicle, plus a few dollars in fees. Entry is also timed. Google Lula Lake Land Trust to find the website and make reservations. East gravel path all the way from the parking lot to the falls. Except for the very beginning of the trail, the rest of the trail is flat. Can easily make it from the parking lot to the falls overlook and back in a couple of hours if taking the gravel trail. We took our two kids (10 and 7), stopped for lunch, and hiked the narrow path down to the base of Lula Falls in about four hours. There first waterfall you come too is decent sized with a large pool that has a picnic area . Five minutes past this waterfall is the massive Lula Falls, which was running at full blast in late March. Past Lula Falls are the trails to the bottom but take the second trail turnoff as the first trail turnoff was muddy and seemed harder than the second trail turnoff. Took us about fifteen minutes to get to bottom and it is definitely worth it to feel the power of the falls from the base. There are other trails that include a bluff trail that would take you to a scenic lookout. Kids were getting tired, so we didn’t do that one.

This place is AWESOME! It’s definitely worth the $15 entry fee. The trails and waterfalls are simply breathtaking. The staff was super friendly and helpful with trail hike suggestions. Plenty of parking and not crowded at all when we went. I can’t wait to come back, want to see it in different seasons. Don’t miss this gem.

To get to the waterfall is about 2 miles beautiful scenery on the way. To get to the bottom of the fall you have to go down some steep steps but it's worth it
