tripadvisorWe stopped by the museum, hoping we weren't too late for the fiber art show - but we were. The main gallery was full of a teaching exhibit on the connectivity of art through the past 5 decades. This frankly didn't so much for us. But the items in the smaller side rooms/spaces were more interesting. We especially liked the exhibition of Chihuly glass pieces along with some of his contemporaries.
MoreFantastic, fun art gallery featuring Dale Chihuly glass. Exhibits change quarterly, current display is quilting done by local artists. Of particular interest are the 4 display cases at the gallery's entrance. Featured artists create art on the wall which is completely removed and/or painted over at the end of the exhibit period. Admission is free. It's a great stop if you find yourself with a half hour before your next appointment. Highly recommended.
MoreA small university museum, but they have some very interesting pieces in their permanent collection on display: Faith Ringold, Romare Bearden, lots of Chihuly.
MoreI saw an interesting exhibit of art from the department and loved the setting and views. It was an easy walk along the river from my hotel to the gallery.
MoreBefore heading down the road, home to Pullman, I decided to pay a visit to the Jundt Museum. I am so glad I did! An exhibition of the four full time Gonzaga fine art faculty members is on display. It was an excellent exhibition! Do not miss it. It is worth your time.
