Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral Church

The Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral is one of the largest in the state and is truly magnificent. The cathedral has a cruciform layout with an elegant white-marble altar under a massive central dome. The stained glass windows are gorgeous and the walls are Adorned with a number of Italian statues and sculptures as well as beautiful paintings that depict the passion of Christ. The bell tower, with over fifty bells ranging in size and topped with a large crucifix, is also worth a mention. The Cathedral is the home of the bishop of Raleigh and is the seat of the parish making it a religious landmark of the city.

Four of us visited here on 10/3/23. The cathedral is a beautiful building and took us about an hour to go through. There is plenty of parking near the building and a small gift shop inside. It was one of the prettier buildings we visited in Raleigh.

I am now in the Charlotte area church. But Holy Name of Jesus was a wonderful place I yearn to reattend. I helped distribute communion and once I was the scripture reader. I attended when first open. We had senior Priest and both were authentic towards Jesus and the typical catholic type. We miss them in the current changed up with Gothic pope. Praying for restore in Jesus Christ Name. It's a plus to have such a great.place yet very intimate with the people. Huge blessing.

I attended the Saturday Vigil mass while I was in the city. Wow! I was in such awe of the beauty and size of the place. This church is one of the newest cathedrals in the United States as it was formally dedicated back in 2017. I took lots of pictures while I was here. The people and priests are very nice and welcoming. Definitely is a wonderful place of prayer and worship!

It's like having a bit of Europe in Raleigh. Marble and Light make this space shine. Just a beautiful cathedral!

This is an impressive structure that stands out amongst its surroundings. The architecture is visually appealing and unlike anything else nearby.
