Did the manatee kayak tour 3/28. Jeff was our excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and patient. Our 1st time kayaking. He went over the specifics of kayaking. Found it quite easy to pick up. I’d recommend going in the morning tour, cooler, less wind, water like glass. Saw several manatees, very close. Also bald eagle, osprey, blue heron, alligators, many, turtles. Fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

We did this in January, which is the best time to see the manatees. They come in from the gulf waters to the warmer waters (about 74 degrees year round) of the springs. Since the water is always the same temperature, it doesn't matter when you go, but the water is usually clearer in the winter and you are more likely to see calves with their mothers as well. They provide wetsuits if you don't have your own, and the boat was heated so the ride back was very comfortable. They also provided snacks and drinks, as well as interpretive information on the animals. Definitely worth the time and money!

We had a great day with Captain Greg. He knew exactly where to find the Manatees, and had no problem with us, along with our three year old daughter going at our own pace.
