AVOID! AVOID! or at least double-check what is in the box they are handing you before you pay! I bought some shoes. After trying them on, the sales associate sold me a different box from the pair I tried on, and of course, there was a difference in color between the right and left foot shoe. I came back a first time to let her know I would return the shoes the next day. When I came back with the shoes, she first tried to take me to the back of the shop so the other clients would not hear our conversation. She then told me I had tried on the shoes. Well, of course I did! just not the same pair! There was 2 pairs of the model in the same size and she sold me the one with a problem! She refused to make an exchange. Such bad faith make it obvious that she purposefully took the other box of the same size to get rid of the problematic pair of shoes. Dishonest pure and simple! Terrible way to treat people but since they are dealing with tourists, they are sure to never see the same customer twice. I later checked the brand (L'Artiste) online, realized it was $20 less, and if there is a problem with an online purchase, you can return them! So I if you feel like entering this place, I recommend just checking the brand and size of whatever you are interested in to then buy it online, maybe at a cheaper cost, but at least you won't have to deal with a dishonest, unprofessional, young sales person who clearly despises you. And now reading previous reviews tending to confirm it.

We stopped here while shopping through the French Quarter. It was a nice shop, full to the brim with great shoes, high-end women's corsets and dresses, men's jackets, cowboy boots, and attire for the alternative crowd. The staff were really friendly and were happy to assist us. Just as a note, I did overhear another family asking to try on a garment, and there was a $5 fee for that because of all the effort of fitting and tying up the laces of a corseted dress. Cool shop with stuff we didn't see anywhere else in the city.

Good News: lots of unique clothes to choose from with prices that I thought were reasonable.Bad News: The staff hovered around me way too much while I shopped. They only had one vest in my size available, but I didn't care for the style very much. I told them that I did not live in the area, but would like more information on where I could get more styles to choose from. They were very unhelpful at that point. They wouldn't let me take a picture of the vest, wouldn't tell me who their supplier was, told me they had no online shop, and only handled out-of-state sales by phone/email. Ugh. I would have gladly purchased from them if the experience was easier.

After stepping into this charming shop and looking around for a couple minutes, I made the HUGE mistake f taking out my phone to take a pic of some super cute shoes to show my daughter. Unfortunately, I was not a responsible customer to scan the store before hand, and didn't notice the NO PICTURES ALLOWED signs he has posted somewhere in his shop. My bad I guess...the owner yelled at my friend and me to GET THE F*%K out of his shop, NOW! I apologized and said I didn't see his notice, was looking at merchandise - and didn't want to ruin his day, he was visibly upset. He quipped that it wouldn't ruin his day at all and went on to rant about technology, photos, and lower prices elsewhere. It was a 1st for me, never been thrown out of anywhere in all of my 46 years. I just wanted to share his bizarre, rude and confrontational behavior with anyone who might accidentally pull a phone out in his shop. SMFH....
