As its name implies, Manatee Park highlights this mammal from the order Sirenia, a popular emblem of Southern Florida. The park sits alongside the Orange River and its a great place to launch a canoe; you can bring your own or rent one from CalusaBlueway Outfitters. Additionally, the park has a butterfly garden, an amphitheater, pavilions for rent, picnic areas and plenty of places to toss a hook and line. The best time to catch the manatees is during the winter months (typically December through March), when the temperature in the river reaches the appropriate number, around 68 degree F.

tripadvisorRoom was clean but floor not mopped. Ac took 7 hours blasting to cool room. King size bed and only 3 tiny pillows ( not even standard size) no room phone to call for more towels (2 in room). You had to walk back up to office and wait for clerk to come from back room.
MoreObviously a place manatees only go during certain times of the year. There isn't any grass for them in the canal that borders this little park. Very brackish water along the section that makes up the park, so unless they congregate near the few areas where you can look down into the canal, you'd be hard pressed to see them. Don't know if it's better via kayak elsewhere. We really weren't expecting to see any manatees but thought maybe their visitor center would offer something to at least make it worth our while to be there. There isn't a visitor center, only a very tiny gift shop where you're elbow to elbow with the handful of people that would fit in this room. A few small short trails, so pay just the $1.00 for an hour there, not the $5.00 for all day. Felt really bad for the school bus load of kids hoping to see manatees you could tell they were bummed.
MoreNice little park. We only walked around, no kayaking. But no manatees seen sadly.
MoreEasy low key kayaking. Manatee sighting vary based on time of year. We saw several. But it's still a nice area to kayak.
MoreThis place was SO zen! Lovely breeze in the shade, as you walked up and down the path, seeing the manatees pop their cute noses up from the water. The water is dark, but they’re still amazing to see popping up here and there (there were nearly 100). I didn’t do the kayaking, but that looked like a blast too. What a great place to visit, even if it isn’t a “huge” place. Love this!
