The Hilton Garden Inn always provides a comfortable stay, but this property is ultra convenient as well. It's located south of Louisville near the airport and inside all of the rooms make sure you rest well with comfy beds, top-notch toiletries and climate control. Since most hotels near airports cater to business travelers, this one is no different. It offers shuttle service, A/V equipment rental, business center and internet access. Families or leisure travelers are not forgotten however, because the hotel offers guests special rates when visiting events at the University of Louisville or the Kentucky Exposition Center.

Reviews
tripadvisorI’ve stayed at this hotel several times in the past. The remodel was much needed. The rooms have a nice refresh. I’m not sure why the trend of not having enough towel racks or hooks continues among various hotel chains, but that is definitely the case with this remodel. There is 1 single towel hook on the back of the bathroom door, no rack for a hand towel. The bed was “just okay” and could be considered passable for a hotel, but not particularly comfortable. There are black-out shades, but light still filters in, so I used my travel blackout curtain to resolve that issue. The noise from the airport can be loud from time to time. I tended to sleep with ear plugs as a precaution.I selected room 808 in the app for my stay from 10/11- 16, 2026.Issues encountered on this visit:Check-InI arrived around 1:50pm, hoping my request for an early check-in would be available. It wasn’t. The clerk had to radio housekeeping, who was “near” the room but couldn’t advise for sure when it would be complete. She estimated 2:30pm. I chose to wait in the lobby. At 2:55pm the room was finally ready. This is technically still considered “early”, since this hotel has a 4pm check-in time. Regardless, I wasn’t particularly pleased as a guest. I had called the day prior and morning of my arrival to request an early check-in. I advised the room # selected on the APP. If the team was proactive, they would have worked with housekeeping to have this room worked earlier in the day. This didn’t happen. I was told there were many checkouts that morning. That’s an excuse for a lack of communication and initiative that results in a miss for a simple request. I know early check-ins are not guaranteed. But arriving at 1:50pm on a Sunday, after calling at 8:41am that morning to ask for an early check-in around 2pm was not an outrageous request. To be fair, the clerk on duty Sunday afternoon did offer me a room on a different floor, but I preferred to have a room on the 8th floor room. An upgrade as a gold member was also not available. There’s no way to prove my theory, but I believe my request got held up by the front desk clerk who took the call that Sunday morning. It’s doubtful the housekeeping crew was advised that the guest for room 808 might be arriving early and to work that room earlier in the day. If they were advised, they apparently ignored the request. It seemed they only responded when I was actually on the property. If this is the normal procedure, it’s disappointing and needs reviewed.Air Conditioning UnitWhile the rooms were remodeled, all AC units were not necessarily replaced. Room 808 had an older model that generated a very loud “boom” sound each time the cooling cycle was ending. This was happening every 3-4 minutes. After 2 nights (of a 5-night stay) I reported the issue first thing in the morning and they ended up replacing the unit during the day while I was at work. This resolved the issue and the unit cooled properly and did not make obnoxious noises. Everyone knows these types of AC units aren’t the quietest, but I just can’t believe prior guests in that room hadn’t previously reported the issue. I used the “chat with us” option from the Hilton Honors App, attempting to get an update the day I requested maintenance on Tues 10/13. I had to phone around mid-day because nobody had responded on the chat. After I phoned, suddenly there was a message in the app. The response with the “chat with us” function was sporadic. They should disable this feature at this property if it’s not actively monitored. There are positives about this hotel that would allow me to consider another future stay. The hotel is clean, the rooms are fresh, the gym was well equipped, the breakfast (included in our agency rate, but otherwise pretty expensive at $15.95) was sufficient and tended by a very friendly hostess.I hope management can take this review and determine a better method for managing early check-in requests. That was the biggest disappointment in this stay.
MoreI stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Airport while attending a business trip, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The hotel is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and very welcoming. The beds were extremely comfortable and cozy, which is always a plus when traveling! The bar area was really nice, and I also enjoyed the hotel’s restaurant. Everything about the hotel made for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The location is another great feature! It’s conveniently located near the University of Louisville and Churchill Downs, making it an excellent choice whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure.I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again when visiting Louisville!
MoreReally enjoyed my stay here. Very comfortable, clean, quiet room. Lots of free parking. Walking distance to restaurants. Breakfast buffet is on the pricey side for what you get though the service was excellent. Only a mile from Churchill Downs and a straight shot out of the side parking lot entrance. Would definitely stay again.
MoreThis hotel is clean, everything is in good order, there are several public spaces to hang out. Alyza, the sales manager, did an awesome job of fixing all the little bloops. Unfortunately, there were a lot of little to medium sized bloops. We had trouble getting staff to unlock the door to our hospitality room, some of our party were not given the right number of breakfast vouchers, and one family had a room charged to another family member. The breakfast was okay, not great, but there was a good variety of food items. If we were not part of a large group, the hotel would have probably earned 5 stars. All the staff was friendly and Alyza was a lifesaver.
MoreI had the pleasure of working with Alyza Macarilay to coordinate my 50+ person event. From the planning process, to the lead up, to the actual event - the HGI Louisville Airport staff provided a top-shelf experience. I would not hesitate to host another event at this facility!
