Jefferson Mall was established in 1978, and for a while it seemed that this mall would lose its following to newer shopping centers. Today, the mall continues to not only survive, but rather thrive with a wide range of stores including popular brands like American Eagle Outfitters, Bath & Body Works, Old Navy, Sephora and JCPenny. In an effort to make the mall a fun place for visitors of all ages, Jefferson Mall boasts a soft play area with plenty of toys and fun activities for children, and a stroller rentals. The mall also has a variety of dining options with something to suit every taste, including the Olive Garden, Avocado Mexican Grill and Sarku Japan. With so much on offer under a single roof, you will find that time simply flies by.

The Sears and Macy's anchor stores are long gone. In fact, a B.J. Wholesale's now sits in the spot where the Sears originally was. But the Dillard's and J.C. Penny's stores are still located in Jefferson mall as of December 2025. The food court still offers a nice selection of food options and I found a store called, Hats and More in the mall that I really liked. This isn't the biggest mall in the Louisville KY area, but it did offer some mainstream business's that you can get your last minute Christmas shopping completed.

MoreGreat mall to go shopping, eat, or spend some time with the family. They have a food court with a number of places to eat including Chinese food and sandwiches. They also have a few different activities for the kids including Round One which includes a huge arcade, bowling, and pool tables. The place could use a little bit of modernization but not a bad place to spend and hour or two.
MoreThis was the place to go back in the day. Now it's just a mess. So many foreign kiosk operators were coming up to me and practically begging for me to look at their goods. I ended up just leaving. I wouldn't imagine this mall has much more time left, and it's so unfortunate.
MoreWe aren't much of the mall shopping family but the Jefferson Mall is a fun trip for us now and then when we are in the area. Clean and bright. Good selections too! If you are a mall shopper this just might be a favorite place to visit.
