tripadvisorA friend and I stayed for five days in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in, the staff was incredibly helpful, personable, and genuinely friendly. We were even welcomed with a gift of snacks and water, which was a thoughtful touch and something I don't typically receive even at many five-star resort hotels. What really stood out was the hotel's communication. Prior to our stay, we received emails detailing the amenities that would be temporarily unavailable, and even a scheduled water shutoff. I appreciated having the information ahead of time so we could plan accordingly. The location was very convenient for shopping, and it was refreshing to find both free parking and complimentary breakfast included. Although we didn't make it down to breakfast during our stay, it's still a great perk that many hotels no longer offer. The suite itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. My friend had been hesitant about staying at a Residence Inn but this stay completely restored her faith in the brand.Overall, this was a great stay with excellent service, thoughtful amenities, and outstanding communication. I would definitely stay here again.
MoreThis was, without question, one of the worst Marriott experiences my family has ever had.Our stay at the Residence Inn Louisville Northeast (July 9–13) started off badly and only got worse. Upon check-in, we were assigned Room 317, which had such a strong mildew odor that we immediately requested to be moved. We were then relocated to Room 412, where the air conditioning was not working properly and the carpet was noticeably damp. Later that same evening, we were moved for a third time into what was described as an “upgraded” two-bedroom suite.Unfortunately, the problems continued. The pillows were completely worn out and flat, and one of the bathrooms had extremely hot water. During our stay, my teenage daughter suffered a minor burn on her arm from the shower water, something no guest should have to experience. While the burn fortunately healed, the incident was serious enough that I reported it to hotel management. What was most concerning is that no one from management or engineering came to inspect the room or test the water temperature while we were still staying at the hotel. After we checked out, I received an email from General Manager Ashton Collins stating that engineering had tested the water after our departure and that an incident report had been initiated. I was told the matter would be handled through the hotel’s claims process. From that point forward, communication essentially stopped.I requested the incident or claim number, the contact information for the claims representative, and the engineering inspection results. Despite multiple follow-up emails, I received no response from Mr. Collins after his initial email. I also contacted Marriott Customer Care, only to learn that my corporate case had been closed because they were told the General Manager would handle it—even though he never responded to my follow-up requests. In addition to all of this, the property itself was in poor condition. Between the mildew odor, broken A/C, damp carpeting, worn bedding, and unavailable amenities that we expected during our stay, this hotel did not reflect the quality I’ve come to associate with the Marriott brand. The most disappointing part of this experience wasn’t just the condition of the hotel—it was the lack of communication and accountability after legitimate concerns were raised. Every hotel can have maintenance issues, but how those issues are handled is what defines good customer service. Unfortunately, I did not experience that here.I cannot recommend this property based on both the condition of the hotel and the way my concerns were handled after they were reported.
MoreAntonio at the front desk was amazing! Extremely friendly and polite to my parents during their stay. He was very accommodating on both stays during the holidays! Residence Inn North would be my first choice! Also Debbie who does the breakfast was soo friendly! It’s so convenient to everything especially shopping!
MoreYou know how some residence inns are truly descent and fine? This is not one of those. The room is so old and sad I truly wanted to walk out when I walked in. I fully regret this choice this hotel needs a redo badly! The mattress smells like soured laundry and the furniture looks like it’s been picked up off the side of the road from a trash pile. Never again I can’t wait to leave! Marriott should truly be ashamed of this property!
