4 days ago on GoogleBEWARE! ‼️⚠️THEY ARE THIEVES!! They deserve NO STARS! They stole an expensive item I left in one of their rooms. The room was rented under my friend who lived over an hour away and came into town for a day. I recommended he stay at Colliers from the beginning and like him and many many others I’ve recommended them to, they regularly stay there as they come to town often. Anyways after he checked out and into the later part of the afternoon I finally realized I left my item in that room. I called and she said she hadn’t cleaned the room yet but I could call back in a couple hours and see. So i did. She said she found the item and i said i would be up there to pick it up in a day or two. Two days later I went up there and she asked for my ID and went to the back. She came back out and said “Im not giving you the item” I was a little taken back and actually thought she was joking. She said because my name isn’t who rented the room. She could only release it to my friend. I told her oh yes I know he’s the one who got the room and proceeded to even tell her his first and last name. And that he lives in a different state and I have no idea when he will be returning. She didnt budge. At this point i was still very optimistic and began thinking in my head how can we all work this out together and everyone feel right about it. So I asked if we could call my friend and he give permission… that was a NO from her. She then went in the back and came back out and asked me what the item looked like, was there a brand name on it and if so what was it, what color is it, so on and so on. I answered them all correctly. She said “give me just a sec” went to the back and came out and said “no, im not able to give you the item” ummmmm why ask me those questions then? Why waste any more of my time and your time if your not going to give it to me. I even told her I could provide proof of purchase that I had for the item and that it was shipped to my address which would all match on my ID. That wasn’t good enough. She began getting rude and had a tone to which I followed with the same. She then said she would hold it for 30 days. So I talked to my friend. He wasn’t going to be able to come down within that time. So we began thinking of all the ways they could verify him and allow him to give permission to release it to me. So he called on several occasions on many different days and threw the following ideas to them… A photo of him holding his ID and a piece of paper with the days date on it and a written statement saying he grants me permission to pick up the item. They said NO! Then we thought could he send a photo copy of his ID to you and a written statement with his letterhead. They said NO! A week or so went by and he called up there to throw another idea at them and she said “What item are you talking about? Im not sure I know what your talking about” WHAT! Are you kidding me. The last idea we came up wth was sending a photo of his ID and a written statement asking that the item be shipped to HIS address (which they have on file) and that WE COVER ALL SHIPPING COSTS. They said NO! And then came and went the 30 day mark. I am beyond upset. We came to them with so many different ideas and ways for them to verify his identity and figure a way for me to get my item because he was not going to be able to come back down within 30 days…They would not work with us a single bit. Nothing! It seems to me someone there really liked my item and knew they could get it. I have recommended dozens of friends and family stay at Colliers over the years. Due to my job I have many people come into town from the surrounding states. On average I have at least 4-5 people rent at least 1 night a month there sometimes upwards of 3. That’s not including my family who come into town all throughout the year. I live right down the street and only have a 1 bedroom 1 bath home so family always stays at Colliers. I promise you this- I nor any of the ones just mentioned will EVER give them our business. THEY’RE DIRTY, UGLY THIEVES!Rooms are also DIRTY, Moldy shower curtains, floors unswept. Mildew smell everywhere! Dead bugs in corners and under beds!Noteworthy detailsThe staff are rude, inconsiderate, and are THIEVES!!!
