After being active in the medical field in New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA, Hal and Ellen Kapen retired to Louisville, KY to open Royalton Kennels in 1988. Our family and locally owned five-acre dog paradise in Fern Creek has been in business for over 30 years. The Kapens have had family pets since 1970, acquiring their first show dog in 1982. Since 1983, their family has shown Rhodesian Ridgebacks in AKC conformation and obedience events. In 1990, one of their dogs was the #1 Ridgeback in United States conformation events!
