tripadvisorWe took Tour A3, the 2.5 hour Houston Tunnel and Architecture Tour, with Keith Rosen. Although natives, we had never explored the architectural wonders of downtown Houston. There are three different tunnel tours and Tour A focuses on historical buildings that are north of City Hall, including several Art Deco buildings built in the first half of the twentieth century. Keith was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable (as befits a former academician) about the architecture, history, and background stories of these buildings and their construction, as well as providing insights about the downtown tunnel system and its creation. We have done similar tours in other cities, including New York and Chicago, and were delighted to find a tour of such quality in our hometown. We look forward to exploring other parts of the tunnel system with Keith in the near future. This tour is highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the history and/or architecture of Houston.
MoreKeith did an amazing job. I purchased the tour as a fun thing to do on our anniversary. Although we have lived in Houston for a very long time, it turns out there was alot we did not know about our city. Keith shared a wealth of information about Houston's history in our 4 hour private tour and showed us many gem spots in Houston we were not even aware of. Had such a great time touring with him and will definitely recommend to all my friends and family.
MoreGlad we chose Keith's service. He has abundance of knowledge and scheduled the right trip for my family consisting of 2 kids (under 10 years). He is very friendly and flexible to our requirement. In 3 Hours, he covered max destinations of Houston City
MoreBest first: I was impressed with Keith's flexibility with start times to accommodate the weather. The walking tour through Sam Houston Park was nice enough, but I cannot recommend the tunnel tours. There is nothing of interest down there, unless of course you find Airport terminals a thrill and salivate at corporate food courts. Keith has a lot of lively opinions to share, but he is not a true storyteller. If it's historic storytelling you're after, there might be a better choice. Maybe the ghost tours are worth the price?
MoreAside from being a font of historical knowledge, Keith is an entertaining and funny guy and makes his tours both educational and fun. I'm so impressed by the amount of research Keith does for his tours. He constantly makes updates and tweaks the route so you'll have the best experience. I've been on tunnel, Beyoncé, and City tours with him and found all fascinating. Keith likes to throw in a lagniappe (a little something extra) so you are likely to get more than you paid for!
