Named for the Spanish word for "enchanted," this mid-city emerald oasis lives up to its name. 200 acres of no-fee picnic areas and nature trails afford family entertainment. Minutes away from the business district, it is a great place to bring your lunch. For the kids, there is an amusement park called the Enchanted Island, a playground and a swimming pool. Older kids and adults enjoy lighted basketball courts, handball and racquetball courts, softball field, urban fishing, and paddleboats or canoes. Find golf nearby at the Encanto municipal golf course, or the Executive Length course.

tripadvisorGreat for a stroll among pretty, well maintained foliage and canals/waterway. Lively groups of picnickers everywhere. Golf course and small kids’ amusement park on premises. Can rent little paddle boats. Saw tons of interesting birds. Lots of convenient parking.
MoreLovely park with something for all ages. In addition to the golf course, there are walking trails, a small amusement park and beautiful vistas, both of downtown buildings and mountains. It's a great place for people of any age to relax and enjoy life.
MoreWe visited this park on a Sunday morning before it got too hot. The layout and landscaping (for some reason) reminded me of various parks around L.A. that I visited in early childhood - the ponds and waterways, the tall palms, etc. A sign said it opened in the 1930s so certainly it could have been laid out by the same landscape archtect who did some work in SoCal...?The park covers a large area, so we parked in a central lot. We wandered through an 'island' surrounded by a sort of canal. There were also sub-islands set aside for birds, apparently. We also walked by large grassy areas, one of which was in use for some sort of weekend 'health fest'. It looked like these might also serve as ballfields at other times. There is a large pond / lake at one end where people were fishing and they had really garish paddle boats for rent (after noon). There is also some sort of small amusement park aimed at young kids. It was not open and our kid is almost 2 decades beyond their target demotraphic, so I have nothing to report there. Across from where we parked, there appeared to be more soccer-type fields, a large pool, and possibly some tennis courts. We were mostly here to get a bit of exercise before heading to a museum that opened at 10 a.m. Depending on what you are looking for, this is a nice spot to visit.
MoreThis is a wonderful little park. We were in Phoenix for a visit and went several times. The park is lovely, and our 9 year old was fascinated by the orange and palm trees. We only went to the little amusement park once, for a special Christmas event- the rides were a little young for our kids. But they spent hours on the playground.
MoreI loved the Encanto Park. There were waterfalls. Lots of birds and lots of water. There were a playground for kids. For kids they had a playground and a Welcome to Enchanted Island. Great fun for kids. Wow! I loved this place!
