tripadvisorWe were a group of 22 cyclists who had an afternoon off of our bikes. Mike gave us a fabulous custom tour of a horse farm (yay - petting foals!), a distillery and a visit to Keeneland Racetrack. Mike was incredibly informative about everything. He was entertaining and you could really see his genuine love of the area. He was great to work with in the planning and execution of our tour.
MoreJohn York took my group of 14 friends to Thurby! He’s a great guy and super driver! He had the van all cooled down for us after a spectacular day at Churchill Downs and Deanna arranged a parking situation for our new van that was only a few short blocks from the entrance closest to our seats! I love recommending Bluegrass Tours to lots of visitors and friends when they visit central Kentucky!
MoreWe visited Lexington for the first time in September, and were so fortunate to have been introduced to Blue Grass Tours, and our wonderful tour guide John York. Throughout our time touring Lexington and Louisville, John became more of a travel companion than just a guide. We enjoyed John's friendly, fun personality and appreciated his passion for what he does so well - ensuring that his touring clientele get the most enjoyment out of their visit as possible. As a native of the Lexington area, John told us so many interesting stories, and took us off the beaten path several times to show us what only locals would know to look for. The best thing we could say about our experience with John is that after spending four days traveling together, we feel like we made a new friend. Thank you John and Blue Grass Tours for making our visit so special and memorable!
MoreAs the hostess of my family reunion the event coordination was a huge undertaking. However, from the first interaction with Deanna, I knew that I had chosen wisely. Deanna listened well and together we created an itinerary that would encompass the best that Kentucky offers, please the various ages of my family members and include specific sights of particular interest to Black Americans. When my group exceeded the capacity of the tour bus, Deanna was very accommodating by providing a small van at a reasonable price. Our tour guides Charlotte and David were outstanding! They were knowledgeable and engaging. During the narrations of the sights, they were inclusive of the contributions of Black Americans to the horse industry and factually shared the regions history. As a Black American, it is a rarity to have a tour guide who is prepared to provide an inclusive tour. My family was well pleased, the tour was one of the highlights of the reunion.
MoreWe just spent 3 fabulous days touring the Bluegrass country with Mike from Mike Sweetman Tours. We enjoyed visiting a number of distilleries, horse farms, a winery, great resturants and a day at Keenland race track. Great bourbon, beautiful horses, delicious food, and most of all a friendly and very professional tour guide. You will leave Kentucky with a new family friend! I highly recommend Mike Sweetman Tours.
