It’s the first time on Segway tour. The guide tour was Kate, she knows everything about Segway. As soon as she done expelling to me how to ride, I was ready to ride with big knowledge. She’s a nice person and patient to my questions, even some questions were about the places and animals, she answers them with a happy face and big smile. It’s the best experience I have done, if I had more time there I would do it again with Kate. She shows you all the beautiful places in Gardiner. Thanks so much for the amazing tour Kate.

If you just want to ride a Segway then you should do this. If you want a guided tour as advertised then avoid this. The guide was very nice, but the tour was a ride up a big hill to a campground then back. There was no information given about the area or any sight seeing. It was advertised as Bear creek Segway tour. I didn’t even see bear creek! Fun riding a Segway though.

My wife, 19-year-old daughter, and I signed up for the Segway tour even though none of us had ever ridden one before. The two-hour time block includes a brief video on how to control a Segway followed by some practice time on a Segway. The actual length of the tour depends upon how much or how little time is required for everyone to be comfortable on the Segway. Our tour group of five people (plus the tour guide) included two teenagers who became comfortable on the Segways very quickly. I, on the other hand, needed a while to get comfortable with stopping and turning. Thankfully, I was given as much practice time as I needed before setting off (as a consequence, for our tour group, the video and practice time took about 30 minutes, and the actual tour was about 90 minutes). The tour started and ended on mostly level, paved town roads but most of the ride was on hilly, mostly unpaved roads that had marvelous views of the mountains. We stopped twice to get off the Segways, once atop a tall hill with some nice views of the mountains, and once at a scenic pull out on the way back to town. Our tour guide, Kate, was wonderful. She was very patient as she explained how to operate the Segway safely, as we practiced on the gravel outside, and as we were on the tour. She took care to see that we crossed town roads safely amidst light traffic, that no one from our group got too far behind, and that we stayed in a single line on the side of the road whenever a car approached. She took photos of us and the scenery when requested. Because of Kate’s attention to our instruction, no one fell off or was injured on a Segway (though I certainly gave it a good shot). We had difficulty finding the office where the tour started. The voucher/confirmation states in one place that the meeting point is “212 Spring Street right behind the Iron Horse Bar and Grill” but in another place as “220 Spring Street behind the Iron Horse Bar and Grill.” Spring Street between 3rd Street and the river is gravelly, and looks to be private road. Simply follow that gravelly road to its end, and the Iron Horse Bar and Grill will be the left. You’ll see large signs for, among other places, Yellowstone Tours…but DON’T park there. Instead, follow the short gravel road that runs alongside the left of the Iron Horse Bar and Grill, and park at the end of the road. The tour’s office is in a small building tucked into a gravel courtyard that serves as the Segway practice area. Don’t let the difficulty finding the office location discourage you. Once you get the hang of riding a Segway you’ll thank yourself for having the patience to find it.

Segways are an awesome way to see a lot in a short period of time. The tour took us through a little bit of Gardiner, and then up the hills to see Yellowstone Park in the distance. We were visited on the trip by herds of elk and a bison. Bug spray is recommended due to the horse flies....and sunscreen is also a good idea.

My sister, aunt and I went on the Segway tour offered through Yellowstone electric and it was absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide was Kate, who was super knowledgeable and friendly. The tour brings you through mountainous areas and on multiple occasions we had Elk not even 20ft away from us! The views are jaw dropping and the tour is a must if you are in the area!
