DO BETTER Eurostars… I agree with some of the older reviews… how this place gets good reviews is beyond me! This place is due for a major renovation. Couches in lobby are stained, tables look as though they may have been spray painted for a quick bandaid… restaurant and bar, I mean are they really? Our room had a broken curtain/blind which meant we couldn’t enjoy our city view. Mattress was badly worn out AND it didn’t really fit the bed frame. Nightstands sat way higher than the bed probably because mattress doesn’t sit on a box frame. The frame is a slat board think IKEA. Bed fits tight with the rest of the unnecessary furniture in there. Poor set up. Desk frame was rickety. Shower handle poor, needed tightening. Bathroom products, terrible. Only offer liquid soap including shower gel BUT NO WASH RAG! For what we paid, not worth it at all. Only thing going for this place was our room was clean. That’s it.

Nice hotel in a good location. King room was small, barely enough room for a king bed - one side is right up against the window. The mattress was also rock hard. Nice bathroom and shower. Front desk were really helpful and friendly.

The Boxer has location cornered, being convenient to the TD Garden, North End, Boston Common, and more. It's an interesting old building, and the beds are actually pretty decent, as long as you book the correct room type. Unfortunately, the quirky rooms have some issues - like the needlessly four-poster desk that blocks the TV no matter where you're looking at it from - and the experience is marred by a $20-plus-tax ($23.29 total) junk fee that is not disclosed by the hotel's partners like Priceline. This fee is mandatory and supposedly covers things like a couple of bottles of water in your room, which is known at other hotels nationwide as the cost of doing business. The FDA also promised to have an invoice sent with the details, but that never happened until I came back a few hours after checkout to directly request it.I'd consider staying again if the price was right, but only once The Boxer's partners start to comply with Massachusetts law. 940 CMR 38.04: the following shall constitute an unfair and deceptive practice [...] misrepresenting or failing to disclose Clearly and Conspicuously [...] the nature, purpose, and amount of any fees, charges, or other expenses that would be imposed on the transaction due to the purchase of that Product
