Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op began as a foodbuying club in 1972, and opened a storefront of bulk foods in Sacramento, Calif. In 1973, the buying club was incorporated as the Sacramento Natural Foods Cooperative. The cooperative also added a fish and poultry counter, and wine and beer to its offerings over the years. The company has grown to include gourmet food selection, including specialty cheese and wine. Its produce department sells organically grown fruits and vegetables, and also offers organic red meat. Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op provides a broad selection of products to a broad network of farmers, suppliers, manufacturers and other cooperatives.
